A Bigger Family...
So it's been awhile since I have posted any pictures, but my life has been busy. We had another baby. Emerson Joshua, he was born on December 3, 2009 at 7:28pm. Everything went really good, considering I had a c-section with Ellee. I went into labor early Wednesday(Dec 2nd) morning at around 3 am and labored until about 7:30, then it stopped. Now Josh was supposed to go out of town on the 3rd and seeing that my due date was the 5th, and I was measuring small, he was convinced that I would go over my due date. I told him that I had been laboring, but since it stopped he still thought he might be able to go. So we waited all day and nothing was really happening. I had minor contractions but nothing severe. As the evening got closer I started to feel like he better not go, because this was going to happen soon. So he stayed and sure enough at 2:30 am I started laboring again. I woke him up at around 3:30 and he started helping me get through the contractions, which were every ten minutes or so. At around 6:30 am they were getting worse and a lot closer, so Josh started packing the truck. Ellee woke up to us rushing around the house getting ready to leave. We left around 7:30 to take Ellee to Grandma Edie's and we had to go back to the house 3 times. We kept forgetting something. (Btw: Josh packed 3 laptops, just in case we needed them.) We got to the hospital at around 8:30 or so and got settled in. I was dilated to a 41/2, so I was happy. After about 4 hrs I was dilated to a 6 and they decided to brake my water. Now up to this point I was going natural, after they broke my water the pain was more than I could handle. So about an hour later(maybe less-it felt like forever!)I got an epidural. Now because nothing in my life is easy, it didn't completely work. My lower back does not go numb, so luckily, Josh helped me through the pain with the hypnosis we had learned from hypnobabies. At around 5 pm I started pushing and nothing was happening. After 1 hr and 1/2 the doctor told me that Emerson was not coming down, so I either had to do a c-section or forceps. I was so disappointed because we had come so far. I asked him if I could just try a little bit longer, and he said I could try for 30 more minutes. We tried everything and he was just not budging, so we tried the forceps and Emerson was out in less then 5 minutes. He was born at 7:28pm. It was a crazy adventure and totally worth it. He is an angel and absolutely perfect, just like his sister.
